Are You Spiritually Cold? Beware! The Lion Is Lurking!

He who has ears to hear, let him hear what the Holy Spirit says to the Church.

Spiritual Coldness Opens the Door to the Enemy

Are you spiritually cold? Have you lost interest in the things of God? Do you no longer have the same desire to attend church, listen to His Word, and live according to His principles?

Spiritual coldness does not appear overnight. It begins with small acts of neglect: when we stop paying attention to God's Word, when prayer is no longer important, and when the things of this world begin to take the place that belongs to God alone. Little by little, the heart becomes hardened, and a person begins to justify attitudes they once recognized as wrong.

Scripture warns us:

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour."

1 Peter 5:8 (KJV)

The enemy is looking for opportunities to destroy the lives of those who neglect their relationship with God. That is why you cannot allow spiritual coldness to separate you from the truth. A heart that stops feeding on the Word begins to weaken and becomes vulnerable to the enemy's lies and deception.

Do not wait until you find yourself in the middle of a crisis to recognize that you have drifted away from God. Today is the time to awaken, strengthen your faith, and give His Word its rightful place in your life.

Do Not Neglect Church Fellowship or God's Counsel

One of the first signs of spiritual coldness is losing interest in gathering with other believers. Some people begin by occasionally missing church services, then find excuses not to attend, and eventually become accustomed to living without receiving the counsel and teaching of God's Word.

However, Scripture exhorts us:

"Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."

Hebrews 10:25 (KJV)

Gathering with other believers should not become merely a religious habit. It is an opportunity to hear the truth, grow spiritually, receive instruction, and remain steadfast in faith. When a person stops valuing these things, they risk beginning to live according to their own thoughts rather than according to what God has established.

The day will come when each of us must give an account of our lives before God. Second Corinthians 5:10 reminds us that we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ to receive according to what we have done while in the body.

What answer will you give when you must account for your decisions? Will you be able to say that you listened to and obeyed God's Word, or will you recognize that you allowed distractions and personal desires to lead you away from His ways?

Do not allow spiritual indifference to become your way of life. God has given you His Word so that you may know the truth and walk in it.

A Cold Heart Begins to Justify Evil

We live in times when many people have stopped distinguishing between good and evil. What they once recognized as wrong, they now justify, and what God has established in His Word is rejected by those who prefer to follow their own desires.

The Bible clearly describes this condition:

"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come."

2 Timothy 3:1 (KJV)

In the following verses, the apostle Paul describes people who are selfish, proud, disobedient, unthankful, without natural affection, and enemies of what is good. These attitudes affect not only those who practice them but also their families, marriages, and the people around them.

When someone stops listening to God, they begin to consider behaviors that contradict His Word as normal. They no longer seek correction but instead look for reasons to continue doing whatever they want. In this way, the heart gradually inclines toward evil and moves further away from God's principles.

You cannot expect to live a different life while continuing to feed on the same influences that separate you from the truth. What you allow into your heart will eventually influence your thoughts, words, and decisions.

That is why we must examine our lives and ask ourselves: Am I living according to what God says, or according to what the world considers acceptable?

Samson: The Danger of Becoming Overconfident and Disobedient

Samson's life shows us the consequences of neglecting obedience to God. Samson had received extraordinary strength and had a special purpose, but he began making wrong decisions and forming relationships that drew him away from what he had been called to accomplish.

Instead of heeding warnings and remaining steadfast, he allowed his desires to lead him down a dangerous path. He became confident in his own strength and began to believe that he could continue acting the same way without suffering consequences.

Scripture recounts one of the saddest moments of his life:

"And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him."

Judges 16:20 (KJV)

Samson believed everything would remain the same. He thought he could rise and overcome his enemies as he had done before, but he did not realize the seriousness of his condition.

His story teaches us that a person can become so accustomed to disobedience that they lose the sensitivity to recognize danger. Samson eventually lost his freedom and his sight and fell under the control of his enemies.

How many people are living the same way today? They continue making wrong decisions, ignoring God's counsel, and believing that nothing will happen to them.

Do not confuse God's patience with His approval of your wrong decisions. The fact that you still have opportunities to correct your path does not mean you should continue doing what you know is wrong.

God has given you His Word so that you may learn to recognize danger before falling into it.

Do Not Be Unequally Yoked

One of the decisions that can deeply affect our spiritual lives is choosing relationships and influences that draw us away from God's principles.

Scripture declares:

"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?"

2 Corinthians 6:14 (KJV)

This warning teaches us the importance of not compromising with anything that contradicts our faith. We cannot claim to walk in truth while accepting thoughts, advice, and behaviors that oppose God's Word as our guide.

The apostle Paul continues by asking:

"And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?"

2 Corinthians 6:15 (KJV)

Light and darkness represent completely different paths. You cannot walk in both at the same time and expect the same results.

This does not mean despising those who do not yet know God, but recognizing that our decisions must be governed by His truth. We must love people without allowing negative influences to determine our conduct.

Jesus said:

"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."

John 10:10 (KJV)

Christ came to give us life, but the enemy seeks to destroy what God desires to build. That is why we must learn to distinguish between influences that strengthen our relationship with God and those that lead us into disobedience.

Do not surrender your future, your family, or your spiritual life to relationships and decisions that separate you from the truth.

The Lion Looks for Those Who Become Careless

In nature, lions often take advantage of vulnerable animals that are isolated or separated from their group. Similarly, the enemy seeks to take advantage of moments when a person becomes spiritually weak and stops standing firm in the truth.

The attack does not always begin with an obvious situation. Many times, it begins in the mind through thoughts of unbelief, resentment, pride, or disobedience.

The enemy tries to make you believe that you do not need to listen to God's counsel, that you can live however you please, and that your decisions will have no consequences. In this way, little by little, he attempts to separate you from what strengthens your faith.

Samson became so confident in himself that he stopped recognizing danger. Do not allow the same thing to happen to you.

When a person becomes spiritually cold, they may begin to think everything is fine simply because they have not yet faced the consequences of their decisions. But living without paying attention to God's Word is like walking without recognizing the dangers ahead.

Do not isolate yourself spiritually. Do not stop gathering with other believers, do not reject the counsel of the Word, and do not allow the enemy to fill your mind with thoughts that contradict the truth.

Return to Christ and Know the Truth

If you recognize that your heart has grown cold, you still have an opportunity to change. You do not have to continue living in indifference, disobedience, or deception.

Jesus declared:

"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

John 8:32 (KJV)

True freedom does not mean doing everything you desire. It means knowing the truth and living according to it. When you allow God's Word to govern your thoughts, you begin to recognize what you need to correct.

Stop justifying what you know is wrong. Do not allow pride to keep you from acknowledging your mistakes. If you have stopped attending church, begin valuing the teaching of the Word again. If you have allowed harmful influences into your life, make the decision to separate yourself from them. If your heart has become hardened, listen once again to what God is saying.

Spiritual coldness does not have to be the end of your story. Today, you can make the decision to walk in obedience again and strengthen your relationship with God.

Christ is the truth, and only by remaining in His Word will you be able to recognize the path you must follow.

Christ Is Coming Soon! Do Not Remain Spiritually Cold

Christ is coming soon. This is not the time to live distracted, indifferent, or separated from the truth. It is time to awaken spiritually, examine our decisions, and give God first place in our lives once again.

Do not allow the enemy to find an opportunity through your carelessness. Do not follow Samson's path, trusting in your own strength while ignoring God's warnings.

Today, you can choose to listen, obey, and remain steadfast.

Are you spiritually cold? Have you allowed the things of this world to extinguish your interest in God? What do you need to change to begin walking according to His Word again?

Do not waste any more time. Draw near to Christ, know the truth, strengthen your faith, and remain attentive to what the Holy Spirit is saying to the Church.

"Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things."

2 Timothy 2:7 (KJV)

Today is the day to awaken! Examine your heart, leave spiritual indifference behind, and make the decision to listen to and obey God's Word again. Do not allow spiritual coldness to separate you from the purpose God has for your life.
