Get up… there is still a journey ahead
He who has ears to hear, let him hear what the Holy Spirit says to the Church.
Associate Pastor Mireya San.
Is your soul sick?
A serious question:
Are you being attacked by discouragement?
Do not allow sadness to speak to you.
If you listen to it too much, it will end up controlling you.
Discouragement does not come from God.
It is a deception that seeks to steal your joy.
“The joy of the Lord is your strength.”
(Nehemiah 8:10)
The source of joy
True joy does not come from man.
It comes from God.
That is why it does not depend on circumstances.
It depends on your relationship with Him.
When you lose focus, you lose joy.
When you lose joy, you lose strength.
Discouragement is contagious
Discouragement is not just an emotional state.
It is a spiritual sickness.
And like any sickness… it spreads.
Worry is a warning sign.
It shows that something is not right within you.
That is why the solution is not distraction,
but returning to the truth.
“I am the way, the truth, and the life.”
(John 14:6)
“You shall know the truth…”
(John 8:32)
The danger of listening to lies
Lies do not always look like lies.
Sometimes they come as thoughts:
- “You can’t”
- “You are alone”
- “It’s not worth continuing”
But those words destroy.
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue.”
(Proverbs 18:20–21)
Elijah: an example of discouragement
Elijah, even as a prophet, fell into discouragement.
He ran.
He hid.
He went into a cave.
He wanted to die.
(1 Kings 19:3–10)
But God did not leave him there.
He asked him a key question:
“What are you doing here?”
And then gave him an instruction:
Get up. There is still a journey ahead.
The deception of isolation
Discouragement makes you believe you are alone.
It makes you think you are no longer useful.
That you are finished.
That is exactly what Elijah thought.
But it was not true.
God still had a purpose:
There were people who needed to be reached.
There was an Elisha who needed to be raised up.
You still have purpose
You do not know what God wants to do through you.
Maybe you are the answer
for someone right next to you.
But if you stay in the “cave,”
you will not see it.
Come out of the cave
The cave represents:
- isolation
- sadness
- defeat
- negative thoughts
Do not stay there.
Get up
It is a decision.
👉 Get up
👉 Refocus your eyes
👉 Return to Christ
Do not keep listening to sadness.
Listen to God.
Christ is coming soon.
Conclusion
Discouragement wants to stop you.
God wants to lift you up.
The voice you listen to
will define your direction.
“Pay attention, and may God give you understanding in everything.”
(2 Timothy 2:7)
