What is your spiritual stature?

An important question for every person is:
What is your spiritual stature?

Another equally important question is:
What kind of counsel are you giving—truth or lies?

Many people believe that anyone who talks about God is spiritual. But the Bible reminds us that even the devil believes in God and trembles (James 2:19). Yet we are also told that he is the father of lies (John 8:44), full of deception and wickedness, and that his purpose is to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10).

Talking about God does not necessarily mean living a spiritual life.

The deception began in the garden

The devil deceived Eve when she listened to the lie. Eve thought that because she was in the garden and had spoken with God, she was already spiritual. But by listening to the wrong voice, she ended up betraying herself (Genesis 3).

The serpent presented an idea that seemed good, and Eve believed it. Then she also deceived her husband Adam, and both abandoned what was spiritual for a lie disguised as truth.

Then God asked:

“Where are you?”

This was Adam’s opportunity to locate himself spiritually. But instead of repenting, he responded with fear and hid himself.

Fear is a sign that the relationship with God has weakened.

When the spiritual is lost

A person who loses their relationship with God begins to speak of impossibilities. They feel defeated, confused, and without direction.

Adam had access to the goodness of God, which forgives and restores. However, they did not seek a way out of their spiritual condition. That is how separation from God, known as spiritual death, began.

The impact on the family

When they left the garden, the devil began working in their minds. With the birth of Cain and Abel (Genesis 4), the first family conflict began.

Why did this happen?

Because Adam and Eve no longer had the same relationship with God. Their hearts had grown cold, and their counsel could not guide their children correctly.

When one generation loses spiritual direction, the next generation suffers the consequences.

There is still an opportunity

Despite everything, there is always an opportunity to change.

You can transform your spiritual condition if you decide to draw near to God. Do not keep believing the lie that you cannot change. You can.

Start with repentance.
Start by seeking God.
Start by deciding that your life must be different.

The right counsel for the family

Do not allow the devil to influence your life with his lies. If you listen to his deception, you will end up passing that same deception on to your children.

The counsel that families need is the counsel of God, because in Him is true wisdom.

Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.
(1 Corinthians 1:24)

Make the most of your time

Christ is coming soon.

Time must be used wisely, because the days are evil. And it is even harder when a person tries to walk alone.

You need God in your life.
You need God in your family.

Even if some say otherwise, the truth remains the same:
without God, there is no true direction.

Pay attention, and may God give you understanding in everything.
(2 Timothy 2:7)
