Who taught you to speak negatively?
He who has ears to hear, let him hear what the Holy Spirit says to the church
Associate Pastor Mireya San
Who taught you to speak negatively?
Speaking negatively is not just a way of expressing yourself.
It is speaking unbelief.
It is refusing to believe the good that comes from God.
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above…”
(James 1:17)
Many times, negative words reveal what a person truly believes inside:
- “I can’t”
- “I’ll never get out of this”
- “My life will never change”
But as long as you keep thinking the same way, you will keep living the same way.
Negativity builds mental strongholds
Speaking discouragement creates obstacles in your own path.
Negativity becomes a mental stronghold that slowly destroys:
- strength
- hope
- confidence
And all of this affects your relationship with God.
God wants to change your life.
The problem is that many people have already accepted defeat in their minds before even fighting.
Adam: when fear replaced trust
When God asked Adam:
“Where are you?”
(Genesis 3:9–10)
Adam answered:
“I was afraid, and I hid myself.”
The important question is:
👉 Who taught him to feel that way?
He allowed the devil’s lie to enter his mind.
He believed the enemy’s voice more than God’s voice.
The enemy works in the mind
The mind is one of the main areas where the enemy works.
“The god of this age has blinded the minds…”
(2 Corinthians 4:4)
Deception operates through lies designed to be believed.
“The devil is the father of lies.”
(John 8:44)
There is no such thing as a small lie when it destroys your faith.
Negative words come from wrong thinking
Negative words are lies accepted in the mind.
That is why the Bible says:
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
(Romans 12:2)
There cannot be different results without a change in thinking.
Who can help you change?
The answer is clear:
👉 The Living Christ.
But first you must believe that He is alive.
Because if He is alive:
- He hears
- He speaks
- He responds
- He strengthens
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
(Philippians 4:13)
The first message of the risen Jesus
After His resurrection, Jesus gave a powerful message:
“Go and tell My brothers that I have risen.”
(John 20:17)
That is still the message today:
👉 Christ is alive.
The Word is alive
The Word of God is not dead.
“The Word of God is living and powerful.”
(Hebrews 4:12)
What is alive speaks.
What is alive produces results.
What is alive transforms.
That is why we must speak life and not death.
Faith and not unbelief.
Hope and not defeat.

Do not live believing that God is far away
Many people say:
- “God does not hear me”
- “God is far away”
But that does not come from God.
What is dead cannot hear.
What is dead cannot respond.
But Christ is alive.
Encouragement and discouragement are visible
When a person is encouraged, it shows.
And when they live discouraged, it also shows.
God does not want you living in chaos, confusion, or defeat.
“Come now, and let us reason together…”
(Isaiah 1:18–19)
Stop feeding negative thoughts.
Do not allow the enemy to keep building lies in your mind.
Christ lives.
And because He lives, your life can change.
Speak life.
Speak faith.
Speak hope.
The Living Christ is coming soon.
“Pay attention, and may God give you understanding in everything.”
(2 Timothy 2:7)
👉 Today is the day to renew your mind, leave negativity behind, and believe once again that Christ is alive, hears you, and responds.
